I worked at Intel Studio as a Freelance Houdini FX artist for 3 months.
Here's an introduction of what we do:
When I started learning Houdini, never one day I thought I'd use it for VR. But I'm sure everyone knows now that Houdini is really visual coding that has huge potentials for anything --- remembering my first LA HUG meeting when Andrew Lowell presented his Houdini Music Toolset in development.
I was referred by my beautiful friend Grace Hori to work at Intel Studio around the end of July. 2 days for training and there I am using Houdini to create/cleaning animated point cloud from the camera footage. Not much design involved but problem-solving can be very interesting and challenging. The Intel family is warm. The pay is good. I was quite content.
Sadly it had to come to an end in October. I took what I learned from the industry giants and started my new journey as an effect artist. Hope I can see everyone around still. It's a small world after all.
